Thank you for those wonderful shots. I was especially moved by the first one and the last one. The first one’s perspective of the mural astonished; and the last one’s softening of the Eiger was a stark contrast to its bleak beauty.
rockoysterParticipant8889 posts4 February 2019 at 10:10:48 #903508On Ya Jude. Any chance of some informative captions instead of the cryptic stuff?
ArnoModerator15471 posts4 February 2019 at 12:39:59 #903510Hi Judy,
Thanks for the wonderful images! The cryptic stuff is the file name. If you name the files differently before you upload them, then that’s what should show up here in the forum. Alternatively you can explain what the pictures are about in your post. Bellinzona and Gornergrat, right?
Judy52Participant131 posts4 February 2019 at 12:43:17 #903511Yep, the first few are Lucerne and Tell’s Chapel. I don’t know how to name the files though.
rockoysterParticipant8889 posts4 February 2019 at 19:25:08 #903513You have struck another iPhone Photo Roll “feature” Judy. You can’t rename photos without the use of a 3rd-party app like Photo Manager Pro for example.
rockoysterParticipant8889 posts4 February 2019 at 19:42:27 #903514Convoluted (but cheaper than buying a Mac 😉) another way is to:
- Open picture in Photos
- Click Share -> Save to File
- using Files App locate saved file
- Rename (hold finger over filename until rename option appears)
- Add file to forum post using “Browse . . .” Instead if “Photo Library”
rockoysterParticipant8889 posts4 February 2019 at 20:06:10 #903515Yet another alternative – support.apple.com/en-au/HT206885. This doesn’t rename the file but adds annotation to image.
rockoysterParticipant8889 posts4 February 2019 at 22:06:34 #903516Last option – I promise. 🤓
Create a publicly shared album in iCloud. support.apple.com/en-au/HT202786
Judy52Participant131 posts4 February 2019 at 22:12:26 #903517Thanks. I’ll look into all those options.🙂
AdelaideanParticipant121 posts8 February 2019 at 8:42:14 #903518Judy, another option 😬
I finally worked out how to use a photosharing website (with a bit of help from my kids) so can store them and share them like this
rockoysterParticipant8889 posts8 February 2019 at 9:48:36 #903519Nice work A. That First Cliff Walk! Wow.
AdelaideanParticipant121 posts8 February 2019 at 10:23:09 #903520Thanks rockoyster.
You affected by the fires? 😥 we love Tasmania…
rockoysterParticipant8889 posts8 February 2019 at 19:18:50 #903521We’ve not been directly affected apart from lots of smoke about. Lot’s of folk have been on high alert though. A very stressful time for many. The decent rain a few days ago helped. Thanks for asking.
AdelaideanParticipant121 posts8 February 2019 at 22:35:01 #903522Judy, don’t know if this appeals to you, but Fodor’s has a new feature and you can embed your photos in the text box.
So this is what I included in my report of Bavaria trip last year
http://www.fodors.com/communi ty/europe/3-slow-weeks-in-bavaria-1658311/
as you use an ipad, it is quite easy to just add photos
Judy52Participant131 posts9 February 2019 at 0:05:37 #903523Are you hinting that I should put a trip report on Fodors? I have thought of it but as it would have to be the whole 6 week trip the idea is a bit daunting.😕
AdelaideanParticipant121 posts9 February 2019 at 3:19:10 #903524No, Judy, just showing you their format…maybe try it for your next holiday report 😀
I just found it easy to use, and it is an easier read without jumping back and forwards into photos.
You did well to master adding photos 👍
Judy52Participant131 posts9 February 2019 at 3:28:41 #903525I was only joking.😀. But isn’t that only on Fodors that you can do it like that? How would it be possible to do it that way here?
rockoysterParticipant8889 posts9 February 2019 at 5:10:16 #903526I think Judy might mean bung a whole load of photos on Fodors and then provide a link here to that “report” which could just consist of photos and captions.
