    Hello Jane,

You may not actually need any pass for pottering around Zurich but if you aren’t sure have a look at http://www.myswissalps.com/zu rich/travel

    Mr. Rockoyster,

Our main destination is 5 days in Lauterbrunnen and 2 days in Zermatt.

We intend to purchase the 8 days Swiss Pass to be activated when we leave Zurich by train for Lauterbrunnen and Zermatt and then 1 day to travel back to Zurich from Zermatt.

But we had decided to have dinner at this Hotel Uto Kulm (to view the whole of Zurich for photography)on then the next day to take the train to our first stop at Lauterbrunnen for 5 days and thereafter the following 2 days at Zermatt before returning to NH Hotel ZurichAirport.

We look forward to your guidance and advices on the public transport (Swiss Pass/Zurich card for the above trip (NH Hotel Zurich Airport to Hotel Uto Kulm/Lauterbrunnen/Zermatt/NH Hotel Zurich Airport).

    Should we buy :

    a. purchase the Swiss Pass for 15 days OR

    b. purchase the Swiss Pass for 8 days and one day Zurich Pass for Zurich or others.

    c. your recommendation for the public transport is greatly appreciated.

    Hi Janeho,

The Zurich pass for 24 hours is CHF 27,- and for 72 hours it’s CHF 53,-. A point-to-point ticket (one way) from Zurich train station to Uetliberg is CHF 8.80.

If your not planning to use any of the benefits that the Zurich pass has to offer, I would simply buy a point-to-point ticket. For your other trips you buy the 8 day Swiss Travel Pass.
