Hello, I see that you can get to places like chamonix, lugano, liechtenstein etc. using the swiss pass. Has anyone done this? Is it complicated for a first time train traveler? Are there day trips or 2 day trips worth going to? Tell me your best trips. Thanks, J

Hello Jeannine. The Swiss Pass is very easy to use. You can travel for free in lots of trains, buses and boats, including those to the towns outside of Switzerland you mentioned. The exact validity map can be downloaded from the Swiss Pass page. You don't have to buy any ticket on these routes; showing your pass when asked for is enough. If you want to travel further into Germany, France etc. than the towns marked at the map, you'll have to buy an additional regular ticket at the railway station.
