Is Wengen muddy and rainy in May?

    We were going to say in Wengen late May but I hear it may be muddy and rainy? Also is it steep? My mother is 8 months out of knee surgery. Should we instead stay in Grinewald or LAuterbrunnen? we will be visiting jungfrau

    Hi ncatanzaro,

    What are your plans in Wengen? Are you looking at hiking trips? If it does rain a fair bit before you arrive the trails could indeed be muddy. Wengen is located on a hill above Lauterbrunnen so depending on your mother’s knees you may want to look at Lauterbrunnen.
