    Hi,

    Good day.

I will travel to Switzerland in December with my wife and we would like to pay a visit to Geneva.

May I know is it a good time to travel to Geneva/Lake Geneva in December ? Is the Lake cruise still available ?

    Thank you

    Best regards,

    Pang Woei Yaw

Hello Pang Woei Yaw and Welcome to MySwissAlps,

Find information about the lake of Geneva in below links:
    http://www.myswissalps.com/ge neva
    http://www.myswissalps.com/la kegeneva
    http://www.myswissalps.com/la kegenevawest

I have the boat timetable for up to early Dec. 18 and will attach it. I can’t find the timetable for 19/20 online, but I assume it will be quite similar.

    Also check:

    Hope this helps.

    Best,
    Steph

    Hi Pang Woei Yaw –

    Re- Lake Geneva boat timetable-

If your dates are not covered in the link that Steph provided, please check carefully when the new timetable becomes available. The number of trips is reduced a lot during the Winter.

<<“May I know is it a good time to travel to Geneva/Lake Geneva in December ?”>>

Whether it is good or not will depend on your own personal interests. The links provided by Steph will show you options, but only you can decide if it is a good time, because we don’t know what interests you, apart from the lake boats. Geneva is a cosmopolitan and sophisticated European city, active all year round, so you will likely find things of interest. But, do you have specific interests? How long will you be there?

    Hi Slowpoke,

Thank you for your help !

We are planning to stay about 3 days in Switzerland, preferably Geneva.

We have been to interlaken, Lucern and Zurich during our last trip in 2016 and we love Switzerland !

We would like to stroll around the city, visit museum (watch, local history and etc), and join the day tour to understand more about the city kind of relax type of sightseeing.

Noted your comment, will check out the link share by Steph.

    Cheers !

    Best regards,

    Pang Woei Yaw

    Hi Pang Woei Yaw

Sounds good. You clearly know your way around. If you have spare time, you might enjoy the Olympics Museum at Lausanne.

I note that Geneva activities are also listed on the Lausanne page.

    Hi Pang Woei Yaw,

When exactly are you going? You cannot miss the Fete de l’Escalade, to celebrate the Swiss defeating the French upon the invasion of the city in 1602. It takes places this year from the 6-8th December: http://www.geneve.com/en/see-do/fete-de-l-escalade/

The Escalade race from the 30th Nov to 1st Dec is also a sight! escalade.ch/en/

Just in case you’re there on those dates!

    Maria.
