Hi, I am flying from the UK to Zurich with four friends on 31st January 2016, returning to the UK Thursday, 4th February.

We will be skiing in Wengen and wish to get a return train ticket or pass to make the journeys to and from Zurich airport.

What is the most economical way to do this, please ? I am having some trouble with the SNCF site which seems ti be suggesting that it is either sold out or too early to book ?

You can best get a Swiss Transfer Ticket from http://www.swisstravelsystem. co.uk/?currency=GBP. You can already order for January. They ship it for free, or you can choose to have it e-mailed and print it yourself.

Another option is the Swiss Transfer Ticket Combi. It does not just include the trip to and from Wengen but also a 50% discount on local train/cable car trips. If you just need a ski pass when you’re there this is not what you need though.

Many thanks for your rapid reply !

Would you recommend that we book seats well in advance of our trip or is that difficult with there being three or four changes en route to Wengen, or is it not generally necessary on Swiss trains ? (unlike busy times on the UK network !).
