Zurich Airport train station opening times

My last question before we leave from Australia,

We fly into Zurich on a Sunday evening at 8.00pm. Two questions: Is the tourist ticket office open at that hour [or closer to 8.30 pm by the time we disembark and get to the main airport station]? And, do we need a train ticket to travel from the airport to Zurich city?

You do need a ticket.

If you have have a valid Swiss Travel Pass you can just get on a train from the airport to the city.

However, if not, you will need to buy a ticket. There are ticket machines at the station should the ticket office be closed. You can buy full price or discounted tickets (ie if you have a Half Fare Card) from the machines.

You can certainly purchase a Swiss Travel Pass in advance and use it immediately upon arrival.
