    Hello,

I’m new to the forum but have found good information for my (first)14-day Switzerland trip this July already.

I have a 7 am flight from Geneva Airport to U.S. Even though the hotels near the airport offer a free shuttle, I won’t be able to use this shuttle because it starts after 6 am. Do you suggest I take taxi, train, or walk? If taxi, how much will it cost? I entered some information to get a free quote for the taxi pick-up at 4:45 am, and t will cost about $145 for 4 people and 4-5 suitcases. The distance from the hotel near the airport is about 1.5 Kilometers. Is that quote a normal price range?

Also, does anyone have any advice for the hotels near the airport? Husband thinks Ibis and Nash Airport Hotel are good, but I prefer Crown Plaza Hotel. Thank you.

    Best,

    Sup

    Hello Sup,

    Welcome to MySwissAlps.

The Mövenpick Hotel & Casino is located opposite the airport so you should be able to walk comfortably from here to the airport. More details here, as well as other hotels situated close to the airport : https://www.myswissalps.com/genevaairporthotels

$145 for a 1.5km taxi ride does sound a little excessive but given the time of day and amount of luggage, this could be justified. As you can appreciate surcharges are sometimes added to compensate. Some hotels are located within walking distance but personally a 1.5km walk with luggage, I think is a little far. Perhaps check with the other hotels, as their shuttle services may have different operating times from the hotel you have in mind?

    Kind regards,

    Yolanda
