does children with family card under swiss travel pass has to pay for golden round trip. If yes , can we avoid charges by buying SBB junior card for CHF 30 so that adults only pay for the charges

With the Swiss Family Card, your children travel for free everywhere. You don’t need anything else. Please see myswissalps.com/ swisstravelpass/ price.

thanks for prompt response. golden round trip at mt. pilatus includes boat trip, cog wheel rail, aerial cable and panorama gondola. Does that mean all these come free of cost to children between 6-16.

Everywhere you go with the pass is free of charge for children up to 15.

A clarification- because the cog wheel train and cable car are charged 50% with the Swiss travel pass don’t we hv to pay the 50% fare for children on the cog wheel train and cable car even if we have a family card?

When i go into the website to book tickets to pilatus (myswissalps.com/ pilatus/tickets) while it allows adults to discount their fare by clicking on the Swiss travel pass option, it does not do so for the kids. It automatically loads the charge for kids. So do i not mention the kids at all and just only buy tickets for adults?

The kids travel for free, so they don’t need tickets. Please see http://www.swisstravelsystem. co.uk/en/ products/excursionpila tus. You only need to book for children who do not travel with the Swiss Family Card.

Thanks. I seemed to have missed this detail and have ended up paying GBP 29 each for the 2 children even though we have a Family card. Do you know if i can ask for a refund? Is there anybody within Pilatus Bahnen i can contact regarding this. I had made a similar mistake while booking the Glacier express tickets but I contacted them and they were quite prompt in reverting that they will refund the money to my card.

I can’t seem to locate any contact email for Pilatus bahnen

You should contact the retailer you purchased from, not the Pilatus Bahnen. If it’s the above website you find contact details here and also in the confirmation e-mail of your order.
