    Hi

Sorry if this topic has been posted before but I really couldn’t find an answer to my questions.

We will be staying in a hostel near Interlaken OST and going up to Jungfrau at 635 using the Morning Pass, however the Jungfraujoch website shows that :

This ticket is only valid for the uphill journey from Kleine Scheidegg to Jungfraujoch at 08.00 h and the latest possible descent from Jungfraujoch is at 12.00 h.

    – Does that mean that the Morning Pass only covers from Kleine Scheidegg to Jungfraujoch and we need a separate ticket from Interlaken OST to Kleine Scheidegg? or does it cover all from Interlaken OST to Kleine Scheidegg?

    – Departure from Interlaken OST 635 and Descent from Jungfraujoch is about 6 hours. Is the time of less than 6 hours enough for us to visit the tourist attraction point ? ( no hiking though )

    – We will be reaching Interlaken quite late, so is it possible for us to buy the Morning Pass and tickets there or should be purchase online 1st? Can we buy the tickets in Bern instead as we will pass through Bern from Paris to Interlaken.

We will be there in Switzerland in less than a month so I really hope that MySwissAlps.com can help in planning our trip.

    Best Regards.

Welcome seansoo! First of all: will you be using any of the Swiss rail passes, or another rail pass such as the Regional-Pass Bernese Oberland? In that case you should buy a regular ticket with the discounts provided by your rail pass, as that’s cheaper than the Good Morning Ticket and allows you to travel without restricted times. Also note that the Good Morning ticket is valid from May 1 only.

The Good Morning Ticket can also be bought for other departure stations than Kleine Scheidegg, such as Interlaken Ost, but you can only use it for the uphill journey that leaves no later than 08.00 am from Kleine Scheidegg (in other words, you have to catch the train that leaves from Interlaken Ost at 06.35 am). Fares are listed here; timetables are here. This train arrives at the Jungfraujoch at 08.52 am, allowing a 3 hour visit before your descent. That’s enough to see the highlights, although some will prefer a longer stay.

You can buy your Good Morning Ticket (or another discounted ticket to the Jungfraujoch, as mentioned before,) right before leaving at the railway station from Interlaken Ost. You don’t have to make reservations online.
