About the trail

This route starts off at the boat dock near the impressive Giessbach waterfall. You will follow a nearly flat path along the shore of Lake Brienz, walking towards the village of Iseltwald through a shady forest. Some nice rock masses can be seen along the path.

How to reach Giessbach

There are boats from Interlaken and Brienz to Giessbach. If you arrive by boat, then don’t forget to walk up to the fall before starting the hike. There’s a bus stop near the top of the falls. From there, you can walk down along the falls (follow the signs “Giessbach/See”) and start the hike.

How to get back from Iseltwald

From Iseltwald, you can take a boat or bus to Interlaken. There are boats to Brienz as well.

The route is easy: just follow the signs toward Iseltwald from the shipping pier at the Giessbach Falls.
