Traveling in the Lake Maggiore area
Most of the region can be explored by public transport very well. Trains, boats, buses and cable cars will take you almost anywhere, even to places where cars can't go. For some of the remote valleys a car comes in handy, as bus services might not be that frequent. Please find more information here.
