    Hello,

I am travelling to Interlaken in the first week of April and planning to take Cruise ferry from Thun to Interlaken on 03-April (Sunday). Can you please help me out about the timetable (afternoon) of 03-April ? I downloaded the timetable from http://www.bls.ch website but it is bit confusing. Can I take the boat at 12.24 from Thun on Sunday ? Is the boat starting at 14.24 from Thun goes till Interlaken West ? What is the difference between 1st class and 2nd class Cruise Trip ?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions/reply.

    Shiv

    Hello Shiv

I have just looked at the timetable for you. You are correct to use this timetable as it is the spring schedule. The time 12.24 refers to the time the train from Bern arrives in Thun. The boat leaves at 12.40 and runs on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays (that’s what the small red “c” next to it means) and does go all the way to Interlaken West. The 14.40 is a lunch cruise that goes only as far as Merligen then returns to Thun but in any case does not start operating until 5th May.

First class travel on the boats allows you to travel on the upper deck(s) and second class restricts you to lower deck only. There are clear signs on the boats telling you where you can sit according to your class of ticket. If you have a Swiss Travel Pass the ride is free. The half fare card as it implies gives you a 50% discount. If you have a second class Travel Pass you can ask to pay to upgrade to first class if you fancy a ride on the upper deck. Pay on the boat when asked to show your pass or ticket.

    Enjoy the ride!

    Maggie
