Hello Rizwan and Welcome to MySwissAlps,
A clearly mapped out itinerary is the basis for deciding which pass (if any) suits. Based on your itinerary you need to do the sums based on the cost of all your planned trips on trains, boats, cable cars etc. You can use the Swiss Train Timetable (http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable) to work out the fares for any trip. When you go to buy a ticket the fare you see on the right hand side of the page will normally be the half-fare price. Double it to get full fare. With A Swiss Travel Pass it is free provided it is shown as free on the Area of Validity map ( PDF downloadable from http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/validity).
You should read “How to choose the best travel pass” (http://www.myswissalps.com/tr ain/ticketspasses/prac tical/chooserailpass).
Use the Swiss Train Timetable (http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable) to plan your travel including Geneva to Milan.

Hi, Thanks for replying to my thread.
I have made a simple plan day based on my hotel booking I ternary.
Need your support in filling out the rail attractions and the places which I can visit with full or partial discount by virtue of having the swiss rail pass.
It will also help me in preparing a detailed I ternary of the tour.

Thanks Arno for your reply. I am wondering if I may get discount on rail fare while traveling from Geneva to Milan since I will be having a 2nd class swiss rail pass? I tried to search this information but was not able to locate the info.
Do the day pass for Milan metro cover traveling to Milan MXP airport?

Hello Rizwan,
You can use the Swiss Railway Timetable to work out train fares as mentioned above. Search this site (search box top right of page) for each of the places you are visiting and you’ll find a “Things to Do” tab.
The validity map above will tell you what discounts you get on trains, boats, cable cars etc.
From Geneva to Milan the Swiss Travel Pass will provide free travel to the border at Domodossola.
Sorry I can’t help with advice once you cross into Italy. I haven’t been there for 40 years!
Just a word on your itinerary. I’m not sure how fixed your hotel bookings are but I would cut down on Zurich and skip Geneva altogether and extend Lucerne and or Interlaken. Just my personal preference. If bookings are fixed your itinerary will still work.
