You can buy a ticket from A to B and get off before you reach B but what does “I was thinking of purchasing ticket in bhan” even mean?
Anything to do with http://www.bahn.com/en/view/i ndex.shtml? But where are you coming from?
Mystified.

Thanks for replying.
Yes, buying from db bhan. From interlaken to lucern.
Planning to buy from interlaken to freisburg, then i get off in olten, then take SBB to lucern.
Is it allowede?
rockoysterParticipant8889 posts19 March 2018 at 9:24:35 #879179Where is Freisburg?
Interlaken to Freisburg, then get off at Olten, then take SBB to Luzern?
If Freisburg is somewhere in Germany (Freiburg perhaps) than you can’t use that ticket to go from Olten to Lucern.
You can get a Super saver ticket from SBB for CHF26 from Interlaken to Lucerne. How much are you planning to pay DB Bahn?
You’ve been reading too much http://www.seat61.com!
Removed userParticipant72625 posts19 March 2018 at 9:26:10 #879180yes from that forum.
olten to luzern will buy ticket in sbb.
so its not legit?
rockoysterParticipant8889 posts19 March 2018 at 9:28:00 #879181If you buy a ticket from Olten to Lucern it is legit.
You can get a Super saver ticket from SBB for CHF26 from Interlaken to Lucerne. Olten to Luzern is CHF44 as no supersaver showing. How much are you planning to pay DB Bahn?
Removed userParticipant72625 posts19 March 2018 at 9:33:51 #87918219.90 euro only.
rockoysterParticipant8889 posts19 March 2018 at 9:39:09 #879183When you add the ticket from Olten to Lucerne it will cost more than SBB ticket Interlaken to Lucerne.
What am I missing here?
Even more mystified.
rockoysterParticipant8889 posts19 March 2018 at 9:54:11 #879184If you think Bahn is so good why not buy a ticket Interlaken to Freiburg via Lucerne and jump off at Lucerne??
Removed userParticipant72625 posts19 March 2018 at 10:00:08 #879185interlaken to freiburg bahn = 19.90eur
olten to luzern sbb = 15.60 chf
pls note i dont have a swiss rail pass.
rockoysterParticipant8889 posts19 March 2018 at 10:05:39 #879186Have a nice trip.

I think you need to check the conditions attaching to your ticket as well. Most tickets permit stop-offs between the start and end station. However sometimes tickets require you to carry out the full journey without stopping-off.

1. Who’s going to stop someone getting off a train wherever they like?
2. pilkglobo’s cunning pricing plan costs more than the regular SBB ticket from Interlaken to Luzern. (CHF33) See attached.

No one can of course stop him, but I was assuming he was going to Freiburg in Germany and I actually thought that it depends on the ticket (e.g. the ICE train) whether you can get off the train or not with the same ticket.
ArnoModerator15484 posts20 March 2018 at 15:35:11 #879191Hi Pilakglobo,
You’re being very creative here with the options to save money 🙂 It’s not totally clear to me where you want to go that day. Do you want to travel from Interlaken to Freiburg via Lucerne? Or is Freiburg just a virtual destination to get a cheap German ticket, and do you only want to travel from Interlaken to Lucerne?
As Rockoyster said, a regular ticket from Interlaken to Lucerne is only CHF 33 (€ 28). A German ticket plus a ticket from Olten to Lucerne is more expensive than that, plus you won’t travel via the scenic direct route from Interlaken Ost to Lucerne: Golden Pass route. To save money, you can try Rockoyster’s other suggestion to get a ticket from Interlaken to Freiburg via Lucerne from http://www.bahn.com/en. If you book well in advance they cost only € 19.90 too. But do check ticket conditions as Chantal said, and the route you’re being offered (might be the Golden Pass route, might be via Bern or Olten).
