    Hi,

I will be coming from Rust in Germany to Lucerne on November 26th and staying in Lucerne until December 1st. We were only thinking of visiting Mt Titlis and Rigi and I was thinking of buying point tickets from Rust to Basel to get to Lucerne on the 26th, then rest on 27th, then buy a Winter Tell pass for 28th and 29th to do our two mountains then buy again point tickets from Lucerne to Zurich to get on our flight to Rome.

I was also thinking of getting the Winter Tell pass for 3 days and maybe doing something on the 30th out of the remaining things on the Winter Tell Pass such as Swiss Museum of Transport or Pilatus? Would you recommend one of those two things?

Does this itinerary seem do-able and logical? Do you think this is the best option transport wise?

Also does the Winter Tell Pass include return tickets when it says for eg Train to Engelberg: Free — does this also include to get from Engelberg back to Lucerne? As well as for the cable cars and cog railways – are they all return free or just one way in the Winter Tell Pass?

Thank you so much for your advice!!

    Hi Stephaniemin,

Yes, I think for your plans the winter Tell Pass makes a lot of sense. I’d look at the 3 or 4 day pass: http://www.myswissalps.com/te llpasswinter

Even on the 27th, if you do a lake cruise in Lucerne it is covered by the Tell Pass, as is all city transport. Also, the Tell Pass covers part of your trip to Zurich (as far as Zug) so if you combine that with another trip it would work out for you. See the exact coverage details of the pass here: http://www.myswissalps.com/te llpasswinter/validity

Yes, it covers return trips. It is the route that is covered, doesn’t matter the direction of travel (to or from Engelberg and Luzern for example).

I’d look at buying a ticket from Rust to Lucerne here: http://www.myswissalps.com/tr aintickets/germany/pri ce
