Hello.
We are planning a boat ride from Intelaken to Thun with a stop at Oberhofen castle. We are thinking of purchasing the half fare pass. There are 6 adults and 2 children traveling. I am very confused about which option to choose.
1)I am assuming that point to point tickets would not allow us to exit at Oberhofen castle and to return to the boat to continue the trip to Thun. Is that correct?
2)Day pass, I would assume, would allow us to get on and off but it does not appear to be eligible for a discount, or is it?
3)Is the food available for 1st class passengers only? Is there food available for 2nd class?
4) Where can I find an idea of what type of food is available on the boat?

Just think of a boat as a bus or train – that’s effectively how they work.
1. As long as you keep heading in the same direction you can break the journey wherever you like and resume. Be aware though that boats aren’t as regular as trains so check the timetable – http://www.bls.ch/-/media/bls/pdf/fahrpla ene/schiff/fahrplan-schifffahrt-2019.pdf?la=en&vs=1
2. There is a price for a Saver Day Pass (http://www.myswissalps.com/sa verdaypass and bit.ly/2rkekat) with a Swiss Half-fare Card. You can go round and round the lake all day with one of those. 😉
3. Probably only snacks in 2nd class (bit of a guess there).

I did the Thun lake cruise just yesterday. I have a Swiss Pass And you can get on and off whenever you choose. I also did the Oberhofen Castle museum and its free with the Swiss Pass too otherwise it’s 10 swiss francs…. dont forget to also have a look at Spiez castle and also at the dock at Spiez there is a lovely blue and white little road train for 5 francs. Great views when it climbs the hill.
Food is very good and readily available on board the boat. Great variety and prices. You can sit in the restaurant or take outside.
Whatever you decide it will be an unforgettable trip😊

There is also a very good option enroute of St. Beatus Cave if you get down at Steinbruch. The restaurant here is also very good.
Steinbruch? I don’t see that on on the shores of Lake Thun. What am I missing?
