Please note that that time is “low season” in the high Alps. Very few tourists or skiers; many hotels and restaurants will be closed until early to mid June. So, in Zermatt and, to a lesser degree in Interlaken, you may find a strange combination of fewer available rooms and, at the same time, lower prices. In Zürich, you will be in the latter part of Spring. Nice weather, if sometimes a few rainy days.
If you had plans for any hiking in the Jungfrtau region, trails above 1500-1800 meters, such as tghis one, will be closed ubtil mid-June, on averag. Cableways in the high Alps may have somewhat varyhing opening dates, but the 3rd weekend in May is common for the excursion cableways., such a s Wengen to Männlichen.
So, if you plan to go up on mountains by mountain transport, use the timetable to check your dates:

May maps will guide you. I like this one:

Migros and Coop have takeaway food shops, as well as the inexpensive restaurants noted in that last link.
With large groups, renting cars may save money compared to public transport, where each person must have a ticket or rail pass. That is in spite of the horrible cost of parking in population centers, and the fact that you cannot drive to Zermatt (car-free) , and can only drive part way to the nicer villages in the Jungfrau region. Wengen and Mürren are car-free. However, in late May, most Alpine passes are still blocked by snow, so you may possibly have to plan roundabout routes.

I forgot to mention the group discounts for rail travel, but I see that Anna took care of that.
Also, any dietary restrictions? Vegetarian meals are commonly available, but the basic Swiss cuisine is heavy on meat and cheese.

The only thing I wanted to add for the subject of food is that in Switzerland eating at restaurants tends be expensive. I definitely agree with Slowpoke’s suggestion with purchasing from Migros and Coop from their takeaway or their in-house restaurants. In addition you can also check out Aldi or Lidl. They are both grocery stores that have great prices.
When I am out on a day trip with my family in Switzerland, I will often purchase a loaf of bread, cold cuts, cheese, and a bottle of water from Aldi/Lidl and take that with me as a picnic. Take a look at the grocery section to see what interests your group, you could definitely find something to eat and perhaps even save some time by eating on the train.
Happy planning!
Best regards,
Suzanne
Nandini_MParticipant21 posts13 October 2019 at 17:29:06 #923548Thank you so much. We are planning to reach Zermatt on 23rd of May, and visit Glacier paradise. On 25th we will move to Interlaken, on 27th we will go to Zurich. Please suggest, whether this timing is alright.

Yes, the time is good. The only thing I would take note is the train ride from Interlaken to Zurich is about 2 hours one way. I will attach the train timetable to help you plan your train rides in Switzerland with ease.
