15 days Eurail Global Pass validity in Switzerland
-
I am currently planning a 2 weeks plus trip starting mid June 2020 covering Italy, Switzerland and France. I am studying the pass options from this site as well as looking at map, I would like to confirm my understanding on some routes on my itinerary. Also greatly appreciate for any information the best site to make seat reservation because Trenitalia does not allow reservation for pass-holder online.
In Switzerland:
Morges to Gruyere – only cover until Bulle . How much bus cost to Gruyere?
Montreux to Zermatt – cover the route down to Martigny with connection in Visp but if I come from Spiez, then it is at discount from Frutigen. Is this correct? How much the cost?
Zurich to Rhine Fall – It is covered but will it cover from Rhine fall to Stein Am Rhein and back to Zurich
Zurich to St Moritz – It is covered Glacier Express from Zermatt to St. Moritz but will it cover from Zurich to St Moritz and back
In Italy:
Regional train is free and not need to make reservation. Is this correct?
IC train reservation fee is about 10 euro or $12 US per trip, such as Milan to Firenze
I need to take a train from Spiez to Firenze and from Firenze to Lucern with connection at Milan– it seems like the reservation costs much more, between $57 (2 months advance) – $80 for next day travel. Is this right?
In France:
Basel to Colmar is covered because it is regional train
Geneva to Annecy is also covered
Colmar to Paris and Paris to Avignon (round trip). Can make reservation on TGV, about 20 euro for next day travel or 10 euro for months in advance. Is this right?
There are many site to make purchase but it seems like a lot difference in price. Such 15 days continuous with Happytrail is at CHF 375; Raileurope at $447 US and Eurail at $570. Am I looking at right?
Is Global non-refundable? How about Swiss Travel
Thanks in advance for your replies!
