Hi! I will be arriving at Zurich in end November and my return flight will be from Paris.

I am intending to take a train to Paris from Genève Cornavin during the last leg of my trip. May I check if I will be able to get back my tax refund for my Switzerland purchase at Geneva train station when I depart to Paris? Or would you recommend to take a flight over to Paris?

    Thank you!

    Hi Richelle Soh,

this was a tricky question, it took me quite a while to find the answer 🙂

At http://www.offices.customs.admin.ch/?lang=4 you can find the customs offices in Switzerland and yes, there is one at the train station in Geneva called ‘Secondary office Cornavin’ on that map. If you wish, you can contact them in advance.

So no need to take a flight, traveling by train to Paris is better and also faster: http://www.myswissalps.com/traintickets/france.

    Hi Ildiko

Thanks for the prompt reply! Will I be able to get the custom stamp from Geneva Airport without having a boarding pass? I was planning to get the stamp from the airport and travel back to take the train over to Paris!

    Thank you!

    Hi Richelle Soh,

The Customs Office at Geneva Airport is located at Departure Hall, Floor D. You don’t need a boarding pass.

You can find the Geneva airport plan here: http://www.myswissalps.com/airports/geneva (scroll to the bottom for information from other websites).

    Hope this helps.

    regards,

    Anna
