A traveler is planning a trip with their wife, spending 4 days in Chamonix and 8 days in Switzerland. They seek advice on whether to buy an 8-day Swiss Travel Pass and how to use it for their journey from Chamonix to Zurich, including options for scenic routes and luggage considerations.
- The Swiss Travel Pass is a great choice for your travel plans; it covers many routes and offers convenience.

- Consider taking the scenic route via Kandersteg after Visp for better views.

Hello,
Ill be staying with my wife in Chamonix for 4 days , then planning to stay 8 days in Swizerland:
– Can you please let us know if its worth buying the 8 days Swiss travel pass ?
– How to use it going from Chamonix to Zurich ?
Currently the hotels reservations done is as flows:
6-8 Aug Zurich , 8-12 Lucern , 12-14 Geneva ( note that Zurich hotel is still free cancellation and we are flexible to change these 2 days to the best possible option )
– SBB app is showing us this path from Chamonix to Zurich ( 5hrs 15min ):
1-Chamonix Midi to Vallorcine
2-Vallorcine to martigny
3-Martiginy to Visp
4-Visp to Zurich
Note that we have 2 large luggage.
Is all that path included in the swiss travel pass, if not how to make it included ?
Is that the best way to go to Zurich ? Is it a scenic path ?
Other plan is to go from Chamonix to Lugano using Swiss travel pass, staying for one night there,
and the next morning take the Bernina express bus to Tirano to Chur to Zurich,
is this a better plan ?
