Unable to find Bernina Express timetable

Short summary – read this first

Ajittipnis is planning a day trip on March 21 from St. Moritz to Tirano and is looking for the Bernina Express timings. They need help finding the timetable for the panoramic trains to enjoy the scenic views during their journey.

Key takeaways:
  • Check the link provided for the Bernina Express timetable and additional resources for schedules.
  • You don’t need to take the Bernina Express to enjoy the views; regular trains on the Bernina Railway also offer great scenery.
  • Ordinary train coaches have large windows that provide good views, similar to panoramic coaches, so you'll still enjoy the scenery.

I am unable to find the Bernina express timings on SBB Timetable. We will be travelling on 21st March from St. Moritz to Tirano and back on same day.

Can you help me where to find Panoramic Trains time table.

Here is the official Swiss timetable (Kursbuch) PDF:

    But:

You do not need to be on the ‘Bernina Express’ to travel from St Moritz to Tirano and back.

It is important to understand the difference between the ‘Bernina Express’ and the ‘Bernina Railway’.

The Bernina Railway is the (originally independent) railway line from St Moritz to Tirano – it became part of the RhB in 1943. It has regular ‘normal’ train services throughout the day. An ‘express’ is no faster than a normal service due to the single track and mountainous nature of the line.

You don’t need to be on the ‘Bernina Express’ anyway to enjoy the views on the Bernina Line

On the Bernina, like most modern Swiss trains the ordinary train coaches have large windows, even if not officially panoramic. The key element of a ‘panoramic’ coach is ‘toplight’ windows above your head but in practice very few of the major views from panoramic trains are directly above your head, so the view through the normal trains windows on Swiss trains is perfectly fine.
