On our trips to Switzerland, we ate least one meal per day out of the local market with take -away food. Where we stay in Murren, the only grocery (Coop) store always had a great selection of ready to eat food and beer/wine at reasonable prices. Unless you are camping in the wilderness, there is no need to bring food with you. One of the most memorable times we have had of our trips to Europe was eating bread, cheese, and cheap wine (from Migroes) on Pont Neuf in Paris (that was in 1981).
