Bringing in ready-to-eat meals into Switzerland
A traveler is planning a trip to Switzerland in October and wants to know if they can bring ready-to-eat meat and chicken meals with them. They are curious about any restrictions on bringing food into the country, so they can prepare accordingly.
- Bringing in a small amount of instant food is allowed.
- You can find ready meals in Swiss supermarkets, so bringing food may not be necessary.
- If you're staying in a town, like Murren, there are plenty of options for take-away meals available.

Hi, our plan of visiting Switzerland in October is taking shape nicely. We thought of bringing some meat/chicken ready-to-eat meals with us. Its like you just pour any water, not necessary hot, into the container and within minutes the food will be cooked, ready to be eaten.
We would like to know is there any restriction on bringing in such foods, or for that matter any other types of food, into Switzerland?
Thank you
