Hi! 10 more days before we are in Switzerland! Thank you so much for all your help so far.

What is the best/most-economical way to get from Wil to Munich, if we have a Swiss Travel Pass….

From what I understand, one needs to buy tickets for the onward journey from the Swiss border, in this case, would probably be St Mergrethen. So, can this be booked in advance for better pricing, or do we have to directly buy the St Margrethen-Munich tickets at Wil station on the day of travel?

Would Flixbus be better? I can’t seem to find St Margrethen for the Flixbus…
We could do Bregenz to Munich by Flixbus, which does have very decent rates, but what is the best way to get to Brengenz from Wil?

Hi FiMe,

That’s right with the Swiss Travel Pass, you’d only need a ticket from St. Margrethen to Munich.

Offers are sometimes available depending on the date and time of day but these are generally non-refundable so if you choose this option, just be sure your plans are fixed. In general, the earlier the purchase, the more favourable the price.

As for Flixbus, I think you’d need to get to St.Gallen for a journey to Munich.  Use the Swiss timetable so you can research how to reach St.Gallen from Bronshhofen to St. Gallen.  Similarly if you wanted to reach Bregenz, just research via the timetable.
