Print tickets bought on SBB app?

Short summary – read this first

A traveler wants to know if they need to print their SBB Mobile tickets or if they can just show them on their iPhone. They’ve heard about the option to display tickets on phones but are unclear about the requirements for being charged if their phone dies.

Key takeaways:
  • You can display your SBB Mobile tickets on your phone without printing them.
  • Keep your phone charged while traveling, as showing a valid ticket is necessary to avoid a CHF 30 charge.
  • Be aware that there are usually no charging ports on trains, so plan ahead.

You can dispay them on your phone. Make sure to keep your phone charged, because although you have a valid ticket, if you can’t display it, you will be liable for a charge of CHF 30.

That almost happened to me once. Phone got down to 5% so I had to turn it off for the entire train trip and turned it on when asked to show ticket. 🙁 long trip that home that day!
