St. Moritz Chantarella mountain station facilities

Short summary – read this first

HazelB is planning a trip to St. Moritz in January and wants to know about the facilities at the Chanterella midmountain station, particularly if there are refreshments available. They are considering taking the funicular to Chanterella and need clarity on what to expect at that station.

Key takeaways:
  • Chanterella has a bar for refreshments, but options may be limited.
  • Consider taking the cable car further up to Piz Nair for stunning views.
  • Check your physical condition before attempting the trip, especially if standing for long periods is a concern.

Hi does anyone know what facilities are available at the Chanterella midmountain station on the Corviglia at St Moritz. Are there refreshments available there?

I am visiting St Moritz in January 2020 and would like to try the Funicular trip up as far as Chanterella MidMountain Station but cannot find out what is available at that point.

    Thank you HazelB

    Hi HazelB,

Chantarella is a station just outside St. Moritz to switch from the funicular to the cable car further up the mountain. There is a bar: http://www.facebook.com/altob ar.stmoritz/. Not much else I think. I’d recommend to go all the way up to Piz Nair for the best views.

Thank you Arno it will all depend on how bad my knees are on the day as I cannot stand for very long if they are bad.
