Hi – we are going to matterhorn glacier paradise in about a week. I see that it is very cold at the top. I am also seeing all sorts of recommended gear like polarized glacier sunglasses? What gear/clothing do we actually need?

    thank you

Hello KRK –  We were there last year about this same week.  I would recommend taking a packable down coat and a stocking cap – my sweatshirt was not enough.  I found my regular polarized sunglasses were fine. If I were going again, I would dress in layers.  We were the first ride up so it was chilly. Maybe it will warm as the day goes on so having layers would be best.  Enjoy!!

    Hi KRK!

I agree with Dorrie’s advice to dress in layers. A windproof top layer would be ideal. In any case, make sure to wear a high-collar coat/fleece or a scarf. It can be very windy at the top (this doesn’t have to be the case, but it’s good to be prepared), and the exposed skin of your neck can cool you down quickly.

I hope you’ll the spectacular cable car ride and the amazing views next week :-)!
