Did not receive Swiss Travel Pass from SBB

Short summary – read this first

A traveler named Joee is experiencing issues with purchasing a 15-day Swiss Travel Pass from the SBB website. They haven't received a confirmation email or have any record of their order in their history, and customer service has been hard to reach. Joee is seeking advice on what to do next.

Key takeaways:
  • If you purchase a Swiss Travel Pass from the SBB website, check your spam folder for confirmation emails and ensure your payment didn’t get blocked.
  • For a smoother experience, use the dedicated tourist webshop of SBB, as it is designed for tourists and does not require a user account.
  • If you encounter issues, calling customer service again can help, but be patient as connections may be poor.

Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew what the process is of buying a Swiss Travel Pass from SBB. I purchased the 15 day Swiss Travel Pass from their website with my SBB account. I never received any confirmation email nor does the order appear in my order history. Is this usual? I tried looking through their website and calling customer service but there was terrible connection making it difficult to hear each other. Thanks

    Hi Joee,

Welcome to MySwissAlps! I’m sorry you’re having trouble receiving the pass. As you mentioned your SBB account, I assume you ordered from the SBB .ch website. That site is mainly geared to Swiss residents. It does offer Swiss Travel Passes, but it can be a bit hard to navigate and order from as a tourist. As for as I know your pass should be issued automatically but there are still cases where manual processing is involved, so it may take a day or two in such a case. I recommend to call them again, that should be the best way to get this sorted. Do check your spam e-mail folder too, just in case. Also check if the payment was blocked by your credit card company.

For future purchases or others who read this: on our pages like http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass/price we usually refer to the dedicated tourist webshop of SBB: https://shop.switzerlandtravelcentre.com. They have an easy to reach helpdesk, they accept foreign credit cards, and have everything in place to cater to tourists. You don’t need a user account, and passes are e-mailed in minutes.

I’m sure you’ll get this resolved eventually. Let us know if we can help with anything else.
