Do I still need tickets with Swiss Travel Pass?
A traveler has just purchased a 3-day Swiss Travel Pass and is curious about its usage. They want to know if they need to buy additional train tickets, and whether the pass can be printed from a PDF. They’re looking for straightforward advice on how to make the most of their travel plans in Switzerland.
- Once you have the Swiss Travel Pass, you can mostly hop on trains and show it when asked.
- For trips not fully covered by the pass, you will need to buy additional tickets in advance.
- Purchasing the Swiss Travel Pass online is more convenient, and you can print it at home.
- Always carry your passport while traveling with the Swiss Travel Pass, as you might need to show it occasionally.

Hi, i’m new to all of this especially travelling in Switzerland, this is my first time. We will be getting Swiss Travel Pass of 3 days, can i know how do we use it? Do we still need to book/purchase train tickets if we already have the pass? Does the pass come in PDF and we can bring the printed copy? Or do we need to get the tickets from train station?
