When to buy Swiss eSim, and keep the same number or receive a new one?

Short summary – read this first

Karen is thrilled about her upcoming trip to Switzerland next week and thanks the forum for its support. She seeks advice on eSIM compatibility for her phone, specifically if she should buy it before leaving and whether her phone number will change. This is her first visit, and she looks forward to sharing her experiences afterward.

Key takeaways:
  • Purchase your eSIM before arriving in Switzerland to ensure a smooth installation.
  • Your phone number will remain the same, allowing you to use your phone as usual.

    Hello Everyone!

We are so excited that we will be in Switzerland next week . Wohooo! I can’t thank you enough for this forum and I will report after our trip. Thank you thank you 😊

I have question for ESIM. Our phones are ESIM compatible .

    1. Do we need to buy the esim a day before we leave for Switzerland?

    2. How about the phone number? Is it going to be a different number?

    I appreciate all of you.

    Karen

    Hi Karen,

I’d probably recommend you purchase your eSIM before you arrive, just so you can carry out the installation so you are all set when you get here.

More on eSIMS and how to use, in our handy guide below. There are some online purchase options too:

Your phone number remains the same and you can use your phone as usual.

Wishing you a great trip ahead.

    Kind regards,

    Yolanda
