Deana is looking to obtain a Swiss Family Card for her upcoming trip. She needs advice on how and where to get this card as part of her travel planning in Switzerland.
The Family Card must be requested at the same time as the purchase of the passes; it can't be obtained later.
If you miss ordering the Family Card, you can buy a Junior Travel Card for 30 CHF if you are a parent, or a Children's Co-travel card if you're not, but both require presenting the child's passport at purchase.

And, just to clarify, the only way you can get a Family Card is to request it at the same time you purchase one of the passes that rockoyster described. You can’t get it later.
Or a Children’s Co-travel card if you are not the parent. That’s also 30 CHF. This is only good for one combination of travelers. For example 1 grandmother and 1 grandchild. If grandfather accompanies the grandchild you must buy a second Children Co-travel card for that combination. And you must present the child’s passport when you buy.
You should be able to buy either the Junior Travel Card or Children’s Co-travel card at any train station.
Lucas and crew, please correct if I’ve made any mistakes in this! It’s all a bit confusing. . .
While a Swiss Family Card can’t be used as a separate product, it should be possible to still obtain it if one forgets to order it along with the passes for the parents. Showing the passes and passports of all travelers at a staffed train station in Switzerland should be sufficient to get it. I never heard someone not being able to arrange for it like that. But by far the easiest way is to simply buy the adults passes and the Swiss Family Card online and print everything at home.
The other cards you mentioned are indeed an option as well, if the parents have no pass or a different pass than the Swiss Travel Pass (and STP Flex) and Swiss Half Fare Card.
The thread ‘Where do you buy Swiss Family Cards?’ is closed to new replies.
