How to reach the First Cliff walk?

Short summary – read this first

A traveler named Pomkitanner is planning a 5-night stay in Grindelwald and wants to experience the cliff walk. They are asking about transportation options, specifically if it's a train trip, discounts with the Swiss Travel Pass, and whether the cliff walk can be completed in half a day.

Key takeaways:
  • Take a cable car from Grindelwald to First to access the cliff walk, which is a short attraction rather than a long hike.
  • You can get a 50% discount on the cable car with your Swiss Travel Pass.
  • Half a day is enough time to complete the cliff walk and enjoy the views.

    Hi Pomkitanner,

It’s a cable car to First from Grindelwald. It’s 50% discounted with your Swiss Travel Pass. Yes, half a day is plenty of time. It’s a very short walk. More an attraction than a walk/hike actually. You may want to combine this with a walk to the Bachsee: http://www.myswissalps.com/hi king/bachsee.
