You don’t need seat reservations on any of the trains mentioned. Just make sure you don’t accidentally try to use the Glacier Express (which does require seat reservations) from Zermatt to Brig.

Thanks will keep that in mind. Also we now have 2 more nights in addition to the 4N in wengen which i need to plan before we head over to Praris . I am confused if we should spend the 2N in lucerne then taken train to Paris Via Basel or spend 2N in geneve (this will help us cover e the golden pass route )then train to Paris. Can Lucerne be done as a day trip from Wengen ?

    Hi MPP3216,

If it’s any help, taking the the direct train from Geneva will get you to Paris faster than if you were to take the train from Lucerne via Basel.

And it is certainly possible to make a day trip to Lucerne from Wengen. The journey takes about 3 hours one way. You need to switch trains in Lauterbrunnen and Interlaken Ost.

Please check the SBB timetable for train schedules: http://www.myswissalps.com/timetable

For more information about the Golden Pass panoramic train: http://www.myswissalps.com/goldenpass

    Regards,

    Anna
