Is Golden Pass line free with Swiss Travel Pass
A traveler is planning a trip from Luzerne to Saanen via the Golden Pass line in mid May and wants to know if they need reservations for this route, especially while using the Swiss Travel Pass. They’re looking for clarity on whether the boarding process is different from standard trains.
- You don't need reservations for the Golden Pass route; just board the train with your Swiss Travel Pass.
- To find the best connections, enter 'Meiringen' in the 'via' field on the SBB timetable to avoid less scenic routes.
- While reservations are not required, it might be wise to reserve seats if you’re planning to take the panoramic trains.

Hi All
We are planning to travel from Luzerne to Saanen via the Golden Pass line in mid May. We will be getting the Swiss Travel Pass for the dates as well. Do we need to get reservation for the route? Is the process to board the Golden Pass Line trains same as any other train with STP? Or we need to get tickets prior?
