Grindelwald First – closest parking lot

Short summary – read this first

A traveler named Topher is looking for the closest parking to the Grindelwald gondola station for Mount First. They want to know where to park since the onsite options seem limited and the terminal station is far if walking. Helpful suggestions are shared to help Topher find convenient parking.

Key takeaways:
  • The Almisweg parking lot is directly across from the First Valley Station; look for it near the Sunstar Hotel.
  • Arrive early to secure a spot, as public parking fills up quickly.
  • If the Almisweg lot is full, use the Parkhaus Sportzentrum Grindelwald at Dorfstrasse 110 for convenient access.

What is the closest parking lot to the Grindelwald gondola station that takes you up to mount first. It doesn’t look like there is any parking to speak of onsite and the parking for the terminal station is over 30 minutes away if walking.

    Hi.

The parking for the First Gondola is across the road from the First Valley Station in the Almisweg. As you drive up the Dorfstrasse, keep an eye open for the Sunstar Hotel and the Almisweg is another 100 mts or so on the right. After you park, you have to backtrack to the pedestrian crossing and the station is a few mts up the hill.

    Have fun!

    Hi Topher,

There is a public parking space close to the First valley station. Be sure to arrive early as this gets full really quickly. Other options would be to park at the parking garage near the bus station. Then it’s just a short walk along Dorfstrasse to the valley station. Thank you. Trying to find it on the map, is that the Busstation Gemeindehaus, at Spillstattstrasse 2? Or the Grindelwald Bus at Grundstrasse 32? Switzerland

    Hi Topher,

If you’re using Google Map, you can just enter Parkplatz Grindelwald Firstbahn as your destination. The parking lot is located roughly near Dorfstrasse 170, 3818 Grindelwald (next to the Sunstar Hotel).

    Regards,

Thank you. But if that parking lot is full, what is the address for the bus station parking garage?
