Apologies in advance if this is clear somewhere, but I see references to 1 month half fare card and not sure if this is 28 or 30 days validity. We bought one last year and needed it for 18 days, so paid no attention to this. Next years’ trip is looking like being 29 or 30 days, so just curious about what constitutes a month.

A month is a calendar month, so the number of days varies with the period of one month in which it is valid. This will be apparent as you make the purchase.

looks like I am planning a return to Switzerland 😀
Tentative plans as I have 4 weeks off around June next year, but my half fare card will get well used if I activate 8 June and use until 7 July (29 days)

When planning, bear in mind that higher altitude trails, and some mountain transport, don’t kick in until the second half of June, so leave them until the second half of your trip if possible. If the St Moritz area is on your agenda, more mountain transport in the area is open from about 22 June onwards, although a couple of things reopen a week or two before that.

Yes, I am returning to Sils Maria and adding Scuol, just reconsidering order and now probably putting Sils at the end for that reason.

I’m not surprised you’re going back to the Engadin – it’s such a wonderful area!
To help with planning, you can download a list of mountain transport operating times in the St Moritz area from here:

Although it is supposed to be for 2018, the operating times in the PDF document are actually for summer 2017. However, the dates for 2019 will be pretty much the same, just shifted by 2 days. The general pattern is that the season starts on a Saturday and ends on a Sunday, so 24 Jun in 2017 translates to 23 Jun in 2018 and 22 Jun in 2019.
Up around Scuol, the gondola from Scuol to Motta Naluns should reopen on 1 Jun 2019, and the chairlift from Ftan Fionas to Prui should re-open on 15 Jun 2019.
