Has anyone been to Griesalp?

Short summary – read this first

Monica, a traveler from Montreal, is excited to plan a 10-day hiking vacation in Mürren, mostly staying there but also considering 2 nights in Griesalp. She seeks advice on the beauty of the hike to Gspaltenhornhütte, the ride to Griesalp, and how to book the PostAuto bus.

Key takeaways:
  • The hike to Gspaltenhornhütte is known for its beautiful scenery, so it’s worth exploring.
  • PostAuto buses operate regularly in the region, making it easier to reach Griesalp.
  • Consider checking the excursion tips for the Kiental-Griesalp route for more hiking options.

    Hello,

I was in Mürren and in Lauterbrunnen in 2019 for a fabulous 10 day hiking vacation. My heart is pulling me back to this little paradise! I am planning a 10 day vacation, during which I will plan to stay in Mürren for either the entire time, or approximately 6 out of 10 days. I am tempted to go explore the Griesalp area and would appreciate anyone’s input, comments etc. I would probably contact the Golderli Gasthouse 9in Griesalp), to stay there 2 nights or so. I am also trying to figure out if hiking up to the Gspaltenhornhütte is as beautiful as the hikes in the Mûrren area. (In 2019 I thoroughly enjoyed staying for 1 night at the Rotstock hut – so rustic and charming!). I am also wondering if the PostAuto, from Reichenback to Griesalp is complicated to book, and maybe not that frequent. Is the ride to Griesalp a beautiful one?

Thank you for all your helpful comments and advice!

    Monica, from Montreal, Quebec, Canada

    Hi Monica,

It’s wonderful to know you enjoyed your previous trip to Switzerland. We’re happy to help you plan for the next one 🙂

I personally haven’t been to Griesalp yet but PostAuto does have regular services in the region. You can find excursion tips in the links below:
