Wild camping is not allowed around Bachalpsee. You will be fined if caught camping in the vicinity. For more information, please have a look at our camping page here: https://www.myswissalps.com/accommodation/camping/

I think May would still be too early for hiking on Grindelwald First. The mountain trails aren’t usually accessible until mid-June. I would recommend staying in one of the many campgrounds near Lake Brienz or Lake Thun and plan your hikes around the lakes.
