    Be aware that there is approx 1,046 meters of elevation gain between Mürren and Birg. It’s a steep climb with one narrow rocky section requiring a cable for security. Those without considerable alpine hiking experience will find it a rather rough go. Signposted times are for experienced hikers, and the 3 hours is for those headed downhill, not up.

    Unless you have quite a bit of mountain hiking experience I’d say that’s a good guess. You will also need hiking shoes or boots with thick soles and lugs for grip on this terrain.
