Hut to hut hiking last two weeks of September
A couple in their 60s is excited to hike and stay in mountain huts in the Engadin region. They want to know about the snow conditions in September to avoid snowy areas and are looking for must-see attractions that are accessible this time of year.
- Expect occasional rain and snow showers in September, especially at higher altitudes, so dress accordingly.
- Lower altitude hiking routes can be a good option if there's snow at higher elevations.
- Enjoy the cultural experience in Engadin, which has a unique Roman influence.
- Plan your hikes flexibly to account for changing weather conditions.

We are a fit 60+ couple ready to fulfill my dream of some hiking and sleeping in mountain huts in the Engadin. What is the usual snow level for this time of year? Although my husband is experienced in snow fields, I hope to avoid them. Any suggestions of must see/do or places that will not be accessible at this time of the season? Thank you!
