    Hey,

This Summer I am planning on hiking the whole Via Alpina Red, but I am feeling a torn about missing Via Alpina Green. I have never seen that section and I curious if anyone has done both before what they would recommend? Should I just do all of red or get off at intersection to do the Green trail then pick back up on the red.

Also what is the cheapest or best alpine club to join to get discounts at the huts for red trail. I am a bit confuses as to which one to join?

I’m also planning on starting in Trieste around July 5th

    Thanks for the help!

    Hi Marcus,

    Welcome to MySwissAlps.

I think it pretty much depends how much time you can allocate for the hike. If you have a tight schedule then sticking to a single route would be a practical solution. Unfortunately I don’t have much experience on this trail so hopefully someone on the forum who do have experience will be able to shed some light.

The Swiss Alpine Club might have some information that would be useful for you. Also, you might find some practical tips on hiking here: http://www.myswissalps.com/hiking

    Regards,

    Anna
