Firstly please note it is ‘Belle Epoque’ not Epogue.

I doubt it would be necessary to book seats in March, especially as the train runs four times along the line in one day, but if you do you can go here:

    journey.mob.ch/en/routing?_ga=2.12097140.1113399193.1632351864-1233604863.1632351864

It runs twice a day in each direction

09.50 and 14.50 from Montreux to Zweisimmen

12.02 and 17.02 departures from Zweisimmen to Montreux

One last thing to say is that only the interiors give you a real feel of ‘Belle Epoque’. The train is no longer hauled by locomotives but by 21st century railcars so it is a bit anachronistic.

Hi Aileen phela and welcome to MySwissAlps.com!

From Zweisimmen and Montreux you can choose between GoldenPass Belle Epoque and GoldenPass Panoramic trains. The Belle Epoque train has coaches with a historical, luxurious atmosphere.

You can book your tickets here: http://www.myswissalps.com/goldenpass/tickets.

If you wish to check the timetable (http://www.myswissalps.com/timetable), use Zweisimmen as via-station. Between Zweisimmen and Montreux, trains labeled ‘PE’ are the official GoldenPass trains. If you click on them they are specified as “GoldenPass Belle Epoque” or “GoldenPass Panoramic”. Learn more about the route at http://www.myswissalps.com/goldenpass/gettingthere.

    I hope this helps,

    Ildiko

    Hi Aileen phela,

I echo 1960man, in that you probably don’t need to make seat reservations in March. I wanted to book a seat reserve on the Golden Line at the train station in Montreux, and the woman at the window told me that I just had to walk upstairs and board the train, upon looking at my STP. This was in September, (2018) just after the tourist season ended. If you have the Swiss Travel Pass, you should be good to go. The Belle Epoque was a pretty cool ride to Zweisimmen. The scenery leaving Montreux was unbelievably beautiful.

I have read many, many, posts in this forum as to weather or not one needs seat reserves on the Golden Pass Line. It seems that it may only be necessary during the busy season, where as on the Bernina Express, the Glacier Express, and the Gotthard Panoramic Express (train leg only), seat reserves are mandatory. So don’t worry so much about it and concentrate on planning the rest of your trip. Enjoy the planning as well as your trip.
