Hi. We already have seat reservations for the Glacier Express and booked the 92 days in advance to get the seats we wanted ( first class / face to face single seats ). So how do we buy the train tickets now as doing a dummy booking only allows reservation and ticket. Do we book via SBB and if so what route ? We prefer to buy before the day of the journey.

Thanks for the reply Anna. Simply put then it’s either a) ticket AND reservation direct from Glacier Express or b) just the ticket from any of the sites in the link you sent including SBB website. Correct ?

    Hi Ling andy,

If you have made the seat reservation the Glacier Express, all you need is a valid ticket. You can arrange the ticket yourself (i.e get a Saver Day Pass) or buy from one of the resellers.

Hi Anna. We already have seat reservations and also the Half Fare Card. My reading of the Saver Day Pass was that it was only valid for Swiss residents due to the text saying within the GA Travel Card area. So is it valid for tourists as well ?

    Hi Ling andy,

Yes, the Saver Day Pass is available to all travellers. With the Swiss Half Fare Card, you can take advantage of even cheaper Saver Day Pass when you buy early, as explained here: http://www.myswissalps.com/saverdaypass/price

Thanks Anna. My reading was wrong. So as tourists we can buy the Saver Day Pass for all journeys. That’s saved some money when also using the Galf Fare Card.
