How to check weather on the Jungfraujoch

Short summary – read this first

A traveler is looking for help checking the weather on Jungfraujoch, unsure how to access the forecast in advance. They mention using srf.ch/meteo and are keen on finding reliable resources, especially webcams, for better forecasting. They also inquire about travel arrangements back to Zurich Airport after using the Swiss Travel Pass for four days.

Key takeaways:

Check the weather forecast for Jungfraujoch up to 2-3 days in advance, but remember it can change last minute. Use the MeteoSwiss app for reliable weather updates and mountain trip planning. When using the Swiss Travel Pass, ensure it’s valid for your travel dates to avoid extra fares, as trips without the pass might cost around 81.60 CHF from Lauterbrunnen to Zurich Airport.

The weather forecast is often wrong until a day or two before the trip. I’m in Wengen now and forecasts 5 days out usually change by the time you see the 2 day forecast.

    Hi Ashleyrampar,

Weather in Switzerland can change in a minute – sometimes not even according to the forecasts. You can check the weather forecast for Jungfraujoch at http://www.srf.ch/meteo too. Just type in Jungfraujoch. The forecasts are somewhat reliable for 2 to 3 days ahead of time. It’s also worth to check the webcams on the mountains on your travel day.

I like the app of MeteoSwiss, they have great animation for clouds too (also for rain and temperature). I always check it in the early morning, if I am planning to go on a mountain trip. Usually it is more clear in the morning than in the afternoon.

    Thanks IIDiko,

I checked on http://www.srf.ch/meteo and now I can see the weather but the MeteoSwiss website seems to have some trouble.

    Appreciated.

    Hi IIDiko,

After reading other people questions I realized and recalculate the one side fare from Lauterbrunnen to Zurich airport and without Swiss travel pass (expired one day early).

The fare calculation is 163.20, IS THAT correct? For one side travel.

I will be using Swiss travel pass for 4 days and just need to come back to Zurich airport from Lauterbrunnen on 5th day.

    Any suggestions
    Thanks

Where have you seen this price? It seems too expensive for me.

Right, from Lauterbrunnen to Zurich Airport, one way, for 1 adult on 2nd class it is 81,60 CHF without any discounts. You can see it in the timetable: http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable (use the advanced one, on the right side).

Probably you get the Saver Day Pass for that day cheaper, you should try it: https://www.happyrail. com/en/pass/europe/swi tzerland/swiss-saver-day-pass.

Read more about the Saver Day Pass at http://www.myswissalps.com/sa verdaypass.

    Sorry for the delay,

My mistake I already filled out passenger information without discount and it was 81.60

    Thanks for correcting me.

    Thanks and regards
