Jesse is arriving in Zurich on October 22 and needs advice on getting to the Zurich Marriott. With three pieces of luggage for a three-week trip, Jesse is considering using Uber XL and wants to know about other transport options and expected weather during their stay.
Key takeaways:
Consider taking the train from Zurich Airport to Zurich main station (Zurich HB) for a cost-effective option, as it's only about CHF6.80 and a short walk to the hotel.
Uber does operate at the airport, but checking exact pick-up points would be wise.
Expect autumn weather, with daytime temperatures ranging from 15 to 20 degrees Celsius, becoming much colder at night.
The hotel offers a private pick-up service from the airport, though it comes at an additional cost.

We arrive in Zurich on 10/22. Who do you suggest one use to get from the airport to the Zurich Marriott? I was thinking an Uber XL. We will have 3 pieces of luggage and 2 carry on pieces for a 3 week trip. Does Uber pick up at the airport and if so where? Any other suggestions with a reasonable fare?
what kind of weather should one expect in the region between 10/22-11/10?
The cheapest way to get to Zurich Marriot from the airport is by taking the train to Zurich main station (Zurich HB). The hotel is less than 10 minutes walk from Zurich HB. A single journey cost roughly CHF6.80. Practical tips on how to travel with your luggage here: http://www.myswissalps.com/train/practical/luggage. Hi Jesse. I will be interested in hearing how you end up getting to the Marriott and what you think of the hotel. I am in the planning stages of a trip in Dec 2022 and was thinking of using the train and staying at the Marriott in Zurich at the start of our trip.
Best wishes for a fabulous vacation!

Not sure about UberXL, which I prefer. I will either use a transfer company, $51chf or a taxi, I have no idea what they charge.

If money is no object then by all means do the pickup service at the airport.
A few years ago I had the same question on getting to the Marriott from the airport. I did the train from the airport to the Zurich main train station and had a nice leisurely walk to the Marriott.

Hi Jesse! My husband and I have stayed at the Marriott several times while in Switzerland over the years, at the start of our visit. We can highly recommend! Of course, your experience may be different, but we have some wonderful memories at the Marriott. They have always treated us like family and done their best to make our stays comfortable. We have taken the train every trip to Zurich HB and walked (with several pieces of luggage) the few minutes to the Marriott. We usually enjoy walking through the lovely park, but if you find it easier with luggage or the weather is nasty, you can always walk across from the park down the street with sidewalks. Use Google maps and you will see how simple it is. Hope this helps a little and enjoy your trip!
