    Hi

could you please put your valuable suggestions for this trip.

i would like to start my swiss trip from vienna.

i am expecting to land in vienna on 25th august night and after having a short visit of vienna city centre next day would like to move to salzburg and plan to stay there on 26th and move to zurich via innusburg and would like to reach zurich by night and stay there on 27th .

which mode of trasnport is preferable if i am visting with family (2 adults and two kids of 9 year and 4 year old)

is it good idea to take rent a car from vienna as pick up point and zurich as drop off point. (if so could you please suggest any rent a car company and things to be taken care if it)As for my swiss trip i would like to take swiss pass from there onwards

if train journey is suggetsed how can i plan for this trip

    thanks

    Hi Tijo,

There are 2 obvious options to travel from Vienna to Zurich. 1) Train and 2) Rent a car. You can find links to rental car companies here: http://www.myswissalps.com/car/carrental

If you’re planning to visit Salzburg and Innsbruck along the way, a car might be convenient. Using a train might be more comfortable but you would need to plan your connections carefully. You can find further travel and train ticket information for travelling in Austria here: http://www.myswissalps.com/traintickets/austria

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Anna

I don’t think your plan is very sound I’m sorry to say.

Travelling 800 km in 2 days with young children and also expecting to see the sights in three famous Austrian cities (all three of which need at least a full day each for a visit to be worthwhile) is not a great idea.

    Hi

Thank you for your valuable suggestions

If i change the plan like this 26th august full day in Vienna and move to Salzburg (via train) by evening and stay over there, spend 27th fully in Salzburg then evening move directly to Zurich (stay over there).Because i would like to spend next 7 days fully in swizz . Is it worthwhile?

Could you suggest some of the places in Vienna and Salzburg to be able to cover during this time frame or any other suggestions?

    Thanks

    Hi Tijoscaria,

This forum is focused on trips in Switzerland and I am not familiar with planning trips in Vienna and Salzburg. Perhaps you can contact the tourist office in Vienna or Salzburg for suggestions.

Feel free to post if you need help with your Swiss itinerary.

    Regards,

    Anna
