How to use the Swiss Half Fare Card from Klook?

Short summary – read this first

Lisa is planning to use her Swiss Half Fare Card but is confused about how to redeem a voucher she received and how to add it to the SBB mobile app. She's looking for clear instructions on both fronts to help her navigate her upcoming travels in Switzerland.

Key takeaways:
  • To redeem your Swiss Half Fare Card voucher, check your email for the e-ticket or PDF format, as that's all you need to access the discount.
  • There’s no need to link the Swiss Half Fare Card to the SBB app; just buy tickets through the app at the discounted price and show both the ticket and the card during inspections.

I purchased a Swiss half fare card and I received a voucher with a QR code. It said to make sure I knew how to redeem it but did not given any instructions. I also wanted to add my half fare card to my SBB mobile app but I do not have a customer Number from Klook, just a Ticket ID. Does anyone know how to redeem the voucher and also how to link it to the SBB app? Much appreciated.

    Hi Lisa,

    Welcome to MySwissAlps.

When you purchase the Swiss Half Fare Card from Klook online, you will receive an email that has the pass as an e-ticket or in PDF format. There is no need to link the pass to the SBB mobile app. You simply purchase your tickets at the discounted price from the SBB app and present your tickets along with your pass during ticket inspection. You can find more information on how to use the Swiss Half Fare Card here: http://www.myswissalps.com/swisshalffarecard/howtouse

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Anna

Thank you so much Anna! I figured out that on the SBB website (not the app) that I could choose the discounted option and it would then offer me the discounted price. I was trying to do it in the app and it wasn’t an option. But, anxiety is alleviated and I appreciate your help figuring this out!

    Hi Fiona,

Klook is one of many resellers for the Swiss Half Fare Card. In case you needed other purchase options, you can find some here:

Klook allowed me to pay via PayPal, which gives me 6 months to pay with any purchase over $100 interest free. That’s the only advantage. When researching the pass on this website (my Swiss alps), they recommended a couple of places that were safe to buy the pass. I downloaded the app, made an account and purchased it. https://www.klook.com is the website.

    Hi Fiona,

Yes, no worries. Klook is safe, as well as the other websites we’ve listed on the page that Yolanda mentioned.
