Huts for 7 days hike Via Alpina Engelberg-Lenk

Short summary – read this first

Wanzie and a friend are planning a 7-day hike along the Alpine Pass Route from Engelberg to Lenk in September. They need information on guesthouses, huts, and how to access Engelberg to start their hike.

Key takeaways:
  • Check out online resources like 'the-trails' for accommodation recommendations along the Via Alpina route.
  • Ensure you look up public transport options to easily reach Engelberg before starting your hike.
  • Booking guesthouses in advance is recommended, especially for September as it can be busy.
  • Consider downloading a hiking app for offline access to trail maps and lodging information.

Hi, A friend and I plan to hike/walk the Alpine Pass Route. We would like to start in Engelberg and hike to Lenk in September. Is there a site to find guesthouse and hut information as well as how and when to book? Can we easily access Engelberg to start? We would like to hike for 7 days as we do not have time to do the entire route. Suggestions?

    Hi Wanzie,

Wow, you are planning a hike that I, living here practically all my life, have not done yet! Funny life sometimes.. 🙂

I assume you are referring to the Via Alpina route, right?! Find very useful information incl. accommodation recommendations for each section.

Maybe someone how has done this trail themselves will be able to provide more personal input.

    Best,
    Steph
