Hut to hut hiking in June 2010
A traveler named aktode is planning a 3-day hike in the last week of June and is unsure about snow conditions. They prefer staying in hiking huts rather than hotels and enjoy being outdoors without carrying heavy gear. They seek advice on suitable hiking routes that offer beautiful scenery and manageable snow levels.
- Check local snow conditions before your hike, especially at high altitudes.
- Use the Swiss Alpine Club's website to find and book lower altitude huts that are open in June.
- Consider a hiking route from Engelberg, as it may be less touristy and offer great scenery.
- Be mindful that trails may still be closed in late June, so keep an eye on updates about open trails.

Hello Hello,
We are hoping to take a 3 day hike the last week in June. I know it has been cold and am not sure where we will be able to hike and not have to worry too much about snow… walking over a little snow is fine.. but we do not have cramp ons or any technical equipment. We would also love to stay in little huts that you have to hike to instead of hotels in small towns… we love beeing in the outdoors and camping but do not want to carry our pots and pans and tent. We are in our early 30’s and don’t mind a long day but would rather hike about 6 hours a day and relax and enjoy ourselves… a little shorter or longer is not a problem…. we are not picky just love beeing outside in the mountains and beautiful sceanery…any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
