Swiss train seat reservation – how to tell I’m on the right carriage?
Cora is planning a trip to Switzerland in two weeks and has concerns about catching a train from Wengen to Interlaken Ost. She has a seat reservation for the 10:04 train but will arrive an hour earlier and wants to confirm the validity of her point-to-point ticket and how to find the right coach on the train.
- Your point-to-point ticket is valid for one calendar day without time restrictions.
- The coach number will be displayed electronically on a sign near the train's doorway.
- If you can't find your coach on the platform, you can board anywhere and locate your seat inside the train.

Hello, I apologize if I’m asking this same question over again. My trip is fast approaching, in two weeks to be exact 8/18/24. I purchased a seat reservation since there’s 4 of us travelling and we are all in our 60’s, and I’m the most active ones. my seat reservation is on a particular day and time. We are planning to take an early train from Wengen 08:12 arriving at Interlaken Ost at 08:54. Our seat reservation is for 10:04. so we’re arriving an hour early. I feel we needed more time. I purchased a point to point ticket which is valid for 1 calendar day. So there’s no time restrictions on our ticket. Is this correct? But we have to be on the 10:04 train since our seat reservation is at 10:04. Also how would I locate the coach number or how would I Know I’m on the right coach when we hop on the train. Is there a sign posted outside the train track or on the train? I apologize for the very long message.
Best,
Cora
